CAGED WHEEL
Wheel is shown illustrated with triple labyrinth seals but can also be
supplied open. Wheel outer and track case hardened 58/62 Rockwell C
0.8mm deep. Normally used in the temperature range -20°C to 150°C.
Subject to grease used.
CAGED WHEEL WITH NITRILE OR VITON SEAL
Wheel outer and track case hardened 58/62 Rockwell C 0.8mm deep.
Wheel can be supplied with the following bonded to the inner seal:
[a] Nitrile – max. temp 90°C [b] Viton – max. temp 180°C
With full ball wheels the Viton seal can withstand 180°C subject to grease
used.
FULL BALL WHEEL
Wheel is shown illustrated with triple labyrinth seals but can also be
supplied open. Wheel outer and track case hardened 58/62 Rockwell C
0.8mm deep. Normal maximum temperature 260°C subject to grease used.
PLASTIC WHEEL
This wheel was developed to reduce the sound levels in noisy assembly
sections of automobile plants. The centre of the wheel is produced in PA6
with a polyurethane tyre (PUR). Sound level reductions of approximately
10dB were experienced in assembly areas. Maximum recommended loads
are 100kg per wheel.
Slightly higher rolling resistances are experienced compared to steel
wheels. In practice the increase in chain pull is negligible.
Normal temperature range -20°C to +80°C
WHEEL GREASE
All wheel grease is silicone free. Recommended grease volumes are shown
in the table for grease up to 260°C.
TRACTION WHEEL
Traction wheel is normally fabricated and fully machined to customers
specified diameter (A). The mild steel shaft is retained in the cast iron
bearing steady by a mild steel stud. The wheel bearings comprise two
taper roller bearings.
